Up for grabs is an Omega Speedmaster Pre-Pro and Pre-Moon
2998-62 reference, “straight lug” case
198326XX serial number is correctly within range for the “-62” sub-reference.
Excellent vintage condition case has previously been polished but still retains defined lugs and its original chamfers.
Dial is original and correct tritium, SWISS MADE only with nice patina on all plots and original Alpha hands. Some minor aging on dial but overall in excellent condition. No relume, no refinish of the dial.
Original DON bezel has aged to a gray hue and shows signs of aging and wear.
Original skinny logo crown and original small pushers.
Caseback is original, with nice and crisp hippocampus on outside and stamped 2998-62 inside.
Bracelet is original Omega 7912 with correct and original “6” end-links and dated 2/63, which is period correct.
The watch has received a new Omega crystal before listing as the original was cracked when found. No service history is known. The watch winds smoothly, runs and chrono runs and stops and resets.
